Doula Services Under Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal now covers prenatal, birth and postpartum doula services for its members! Umi Care proudly provides doula services to members covered under Medi-Cal in Santa Clara County.

What Services are Covered?

The standing recommendation authorizes the following doula services:

• One initial visit.
• Up to eight additional visits that may be provided in any combination of prenatal and postpartum visits.
• Support during labor and delivery (including labor and delivery resulting in a stillbirth), abortion or miscarriage.
• Up to two extended three-hour postpartum visits after the end of a pregnancy.

How Can I Get a Doula?

The Doula Directory lists some of the Medi-Cal enrolled doulas by county. For further assistance finding a doula in your network, contact your Managed Care Provider.

Umi Care is currently in networks with the following Managed Care Providers:

• Kaiser Permanente
• Valley Health Plan
• Anthem Blue Cross
• DHCS
